The Resort is within an hour’s drive from all the other resorts and places of interest to visit. Transport is available to guests at a very reasonable price.


Mangochi the largest town on the Lake shore is 12 KM down the road. There you can top up your purse again at the Banks or ATM. Get stocks and supplies from the supermarket and have a look around the local market. Plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables to choose from and pickup a bargain at the Bend Down Boutique.

Mangochi Museum

Don’t give the museum a miss. A place well worth a visit with plenty history about Malawi.

Mangochi Mountain

One hours drive to Skull Rock. Leave your car there at the local tobacco farmers barn and hire some porters to show you the way up the mountain. Don’t forget to take a cool box with food and plenty of drinks. Its about one and half hours stiff climb to the ruins of Fort Mangochi. The fort was built at the beginning of the last century by British settlers who fought a fierce battle up there to gain control of the mountain from a notorious slave trader who had his strong hold up there. This is a day trip and recommended for the fit only.

Liwonde National Park

Pack a picnic basket or have lunch at Mvuu Game Lodge. Take a trip down the river in a boat and see a large variety of game along the banks of the river. Plenty of birds, huge crocodiles and hippos. One hours from Palm Beach. Transport available on request.

Cape Macclear National Park

Hire a catamaran sailing boat and sail around the island. Stop off in one of the bays and snorkel around the rocks. View one of the worlds largest collection of colorful fresh water tropical fish. One hour from Palm Beach. Transport available on request.

Zomba Mountain

Visit Zomba. The old capital of Malawi. Drive up the mountain with plenty of sight seeing and have lunch at the hotel. Two hours from Palm Beach. Transport available on request.

Raft Cruises ( Max 20 Pax )

The cost is shared by the number of people on the cruise.
Hippo Bay Booze & Sunset Cruise
Watch our resident hippos come out to play. Spot curious turtles and maybe catch sight of our elusive otter family. Watch the spectacular sunset whilst having a cold sundowner. About a two hour cruise.

River Cruise

Go across the bay and down the Shire river to Mangochi Bridge. Visit the Lake Malawi Museum and have a lunchtime barbeque on board. About a six hour cruise.

White Rock fishing trip

Leave at six am. Cross the Lake to White Rock. (Weather permitting ) Fish around the rock and have a brunch barbeque on board.

Water Sports Equipment

A selection of non motorized water sports equipment is available to Campers and Residents. Free of charge.
